Peer Review Process

Al-Noor Journal of physical and Sport Sciences (NJPSS) implements a double-blind peer review system to ensure the highest standards of scientific quality and objectivity in its review process. All manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the online manuscript submission platform available on the NJPSS website.

Once a submission meets the basic formatting requirements and aligns with the journal’s aims and scope, it is screened for plagiarism using iThenticate software. If the manuscript passes this initial check, it is then forwarded by the Editor-in-Chief to three independent expert reviewers, who:

  • Are external to the authors’ institutions,

  • Are not members of the NJPSS Editorial Board,

  • Possess academic specialization closely related to the subject of the manuscript.

The review process typically takes between four to eight weeks, after which the corresponding author is notified via email through the NJPS submission system regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript.

NJPSS relies on external reviewers for the evaluation of submissions. Authors may be asked to suggest potential reviewers during the submission process; however, the final selection of reviewers is made by the editorial team based on expertise, neutrality, and academic reputation. Editorial Board members do not participate as reviewers, but they play a key role in nominating and validating appropriate reviewers to ensure fairness and subject-specific accuracy in the peer review process.
